Sharing buying with your kids.

http://www.alibris.com

I have a fun way of sharing Christmas with kids. You simply share your resources and give gifts from the two of us instead of each buying their own. The advantage to the receiver is obvious probably in a gift that will be something a little more expensive and pooled from two heads instead of one. The buyers get a chance to see what makes the other tick and how to compromise, which after all is the whole part of existence.

Who I Love

In the way of the world my daughter was born all pink and rosy, skin softer than down. She was placed in my arms and promptly picked up. They'd forgotten I'd had a caesarean birth. Birth pangs are forgotten or we were told diffused. For me that particular legend is only a myth. I remember the most exquisite angel wrapped in proper bundling. The face round and perfect haloed by dark curly locks. She cradled in my arms and rested snugly on my breast and my nurse gleamed with pride. As I learned how to nurse, we became more than we are when giving life the impetus of life to life drives with exquisite force. My caesarean blossomed, a rose with no obvious thorn, my child of promise, a gift, a companion, a force of her own. Just a part of my world as my hand, my heart, my life’s blood, I’m writing this for her.

Determinism or Naturalism?

http://zaldiva.com/cgi-bin/affiliates/clickthru.cgi?id=justice Naturalism has been criticized as making man a victim of his heridity and his environment. Determinism as i read into it overcomes that criticism of naturalism while keeping to the basic tenet of naturalism which is teaching youth to confront the realit of their heredity and deal with it in context of their environment. A quack politician scammed an entire nation into believing that because he was working in some quack secret agency and they had forced a woman to be deprived of her sanity not to mention her property that he could use the same illegal amoral and absolutely not workable premise to cause mass mass hallucinations in the black ghettos of America. He told American s to go around saying you were rich now we took that from you and we're rich. Your white now we took that from you and wer're white. And of course the most putrid crap was aimed at blacks struggling to make end meet and dealing with a culture culture that deems whiteness an excuse for ghost shaking exemption from prosecution only when the White in question permits herself to be ritually raped as the Great White Hope.
Trust me determinism is a viable avenue of learning to deal with psychotic thieving politicians and bought off federal agents. You must first accept your heredity. Then you must look at your environment and handle it. Bye from Dewey

Need A Card?

National Abuse Awareness Day

To approach this most difficult obstacle to ethical, moral, and human evolution as an abused survivor is not appropriate for the task at hand. As Dewey, I can do it> The practical aspects of abuse is that it works for the abuser. Think about that. Then go into your kitchen and pretend that you are Emeril a great and renowned chef and fix yourself a cucumber salad. You will need two cucumbers, minced garlic, and tiny chunks of fontinella cheese. First rinse the cucumbers, peel with a knife not a potato peeler and slice diagonally in thin slices. Arrange in platter. Take three garlic pieces and hit them carefully with the hilt part of your knife, take the garlic and mince it with your knife, carefull of your fingers(you can get the garlic smell of your fingers by rubbing them with parsley after you have thoroughly washed them with soap and water). Sprinkle the minced garlic over your cucumber slices. Dice in tiny chunks your fontinella and toss on top of your cucumbers. Mix a half cup of yogurt with two tablespoons white wine, pour over your salad. Find the hardest most expensive salami you can get and cut in tinier pieces than the cheese. Arrange on top. Put a sprig of parsley on your guests plate, if you have a guest. Serve with white wine. What were we talking about the societal implications of abuse and learned responses dictated by environmental imitate what you see responses.
When I was in the seventh grade a teacher of ours asked that we dress in costume to school for Halloween Before he walked into the class he shouted, Don't sit in your regular seats. We scrambled. When he walked into the room not a peep was heard. EXCEPT FROM ME. ah i didnt change seats.
His look at me could have wilted trees. "If you had kept your mouth shut, nobody would have known."
\It has been more than forty years since that captured moment in time and I have not forgotten. The first dictate imprinted on us by our secret abusing society is to keep your mouth shut. If you open your mouth, your abuser wins because you told. If you don't open your mouth, your abuser wins because you must have wanted the abuse or you would have told.

I didn't want to keep my mouth shut, Mr. Teacher, because I was flip about your class and flip about a community that was siding with an abuser who had been told on by me.

Now let us go back to our cucumber salad and add a perfectly grilled salmon drenched in lemon juice and shall we say, enjoy.

Integrating Desires with Acceptable Social Boundaries

We grow up not one step at a time but one leap at a time. Growth physical growth can be measured by the yardstick, but emotional and its necessary intellectual growth occur in bold leaps. Were you aware of the moment when you conceived of the utterly preposterous notion that other people had feelings as deep and important to them as yours are to you? You may take a few weeks to delve into that suggestion and in the meantime, you should take charge of your kitchen. My mother's favorite showing her kitchen who was the boss was to clean out the refrigerator. Every item was removed. All the shelves and doors were rinsed and wiped dry and finally all food items that could be put back in were.

Comfort Food for Children

Let us presuppose that you have taken an educational professional likeDewey at his word. You really aren't exactly accurate as to his intent since you are translating into you ecosystem what a wise and sage man accurately determined for his school of thought. However, one can only press onward trying diligently to maintain what you presume to be your master's wishes. And your master, now, wants you to consider your food as an integral part of what you are. Today's lesson is on preparation. I have predetermined that you will follow my advice and heed my warnings. To begin cooking one must have a will of iron. Drop those tv cooking shows like a hot handle picked up without a mitt. They are aimed at insuring your feelings of inadequacy and ineptitude. They are sponsored by huge food mill sponsors whose aim is to get you out of your kitchen because you cant of course and into their fast food lines chomping down cardboard shredded with ground beef and oooh isnt that good!. Find your kitchen. Search for a frying pan. Open your cupboards. Find a box of penne macaroni. Dont have penne noodles! What kind of macaroni do you have? They all operate on the same principle and taste the same. Depends on the dressing. Follow the box directions for two servings, one for yourself and one for your child.
Find oil. Put the frying pan on the front burner of your stove. You never want to put your frying pan on the back burner. You might have to reach in and oh gosh, set yourself on fire or at the least get steamed up. Turn the burner on add oil to slightly cover the bottom of you frying pan. Take one green onion and dice it add it to your oil and mix. Take one red pepper and mince it add to your onion and stir. Let fry for about three minutes. Make sure your macaroni is a bowl sprinkle parmesan cheese about an eighth inch on top. Take half a can of evaporated milk stir in one tablespoon of flour, add to stir fry and make sure the flame has been turned all the way down to low. Stir your veggie sauce for about three minutes. Pour on top of your macaroni, you dont need to mix it all up. Ladle out your macaroni onto individual plates always serve with bread never crackers. Always be sure to read through a recipe before you do it. No salt was added because the parmesan cheese is already salted.

Logic

Dewey made considerable use of Logic in much the same way as theoreticians use statistics. Numbers can be construed or misconstrued depending on the idea of reality that one is attempting to reach. In much the same manner, Dewey developed a Logic of Asking that supported his contention that truth and reality were not necessarily the one and the same. Dewey made strong inroads in his attempt to break away from reality based philosophers like Descartes. I suppose for Dewey I think therefore I am can be amusingly hopeless. I can be and not think. I can think and if God am i. Dewey's abstract logic is by no means a retardant to his profound inroads in breaking educational psychology away from hopelessly accepting such silliness as I think therefore I am. The profundities of the realities are obvious. You are what? Let us not forget Dewey propelled educational psychologist into a new era of thought. Subjective realitivitism and Logic, keen insight into the human organism and its envionment. Necessary to the development of the human is his deep understanding of the non human elements of existence.

Problelmatic Truth

Dewey wrote on the human conception of truth. What we must consider before we pounce on the missing ribbed male is the philosophical extrapolation of truth. Are we asking if this color is pink and we hold up a pink shirt. No, my fellow mortals. Truth philosophically speaking dears excuse the familiarity , is the end result of a hypothesis. Is my theory that delving into coded genetic patterns of thought is as meaningless as postulating on the existence of God. My truth is this we learn through the layering of one outwardly imposed sensation after another. The end result may differ in that one layered can see the heavens and the other layered only the earth happens after the age of cognizance of the learning organism. Dewey dealt with his own end results, determining the validity of his postualte. He was not concerned with issues of morality or of whose good. If it works, do it again. His staunchest foe and friend was Bertrand Russell who relished a good sandwich in between his pot roast.

Dewey's Understanding of Learning Process

Does the infant arrive blazing streams of previous existence? does he arrive complete with coded messages imbedded in the same way as other genetic defined characteristics. Does an infant learn completely from sensory experience or does he wait for those imbedded information to be withdrawn by significant sensory stimulation. Is that why we read to our children, play with them and coax them to be humans and not chimps? Dewey unlike what some recent philsophers and child psychologists opine was not adamant on pre experience or post experience as an explanation of how we learn, he was adamant on the express need to continually question how we learn. The reasoning is really quite simple. Anyone can postulate and based on criteria can in some stages of human political existence go unchallenged. That abomination of freedom would put Dewey on the war path.

Determining conditions for human life

Can you imagine in 1907 and thereabouts a thinker like Dewey would be discussing the errors or "modern" educators. Most of us currently are entrapped into viewing our existence as having sprouted without any past and for some of us the thought of a future appears dim indeed. Today only matters for those who are caught in the shameless adventure of stealing. Tomorrow matters for those of us involved in the human development. Dewey like all philosophers was deeply enmeshed into the foundations of learning. The stages of developmental learning from infancy totality enrapped in sensation which abusers read in as sexually acting out to the formulation of thought often termed idealazation. Dewey rejected foundationalism in lay terms pre-existing layer of formulazation . His was the school of experience. Infancy reacts to sensation as any organism reacts to environmental stimulus. The ensuing stimulants build a coherent reaction to satisfy the budding organism. Some doubters would argue that the organism would have to know when to stand and walk. Simply put for Dewey the essence of education should be contingent on building an organisms confidence with do it again only if it worked the first time.
